Martin Friberg Kate Carr continues to floor me. She manages to create a musical narrative out of field recordings like no other, and it all seems so effortlessly. On Making Do #1 it almost feels like the recording is breathing together with me. One of her best and this will be one of those hidden gems I am sure.

mikehoolboom Carr continues to forge her own way in the world of processed field recordings, fearlessly blending and tweaking, unafraid to let documentary elements show themselves, though this project evokes more traditional forms of music, suddenly a metal tick becomes a beat, an echo becomes a lead solo. Detoured guitar touches dominate the track's latter stages. Entirely satisfying.

about

A new series of monthly experiments involving limited numbers of objects. This first one comes from a series of sessions I did preparing for a few gigs I had coming up. Working with my boomerang looper, beads, a plastic cog, a plastic container full of water, a hand drum, a hollow log and other bits and bobs. A long form lower-case listen. Hope you enjoy <3
